The ER4 auxiliary phase starting relay is used to switch the auxiliary phase when starting single-phase AC motors.

Features: Position-independent function:
The relay operates with the same precision in every position. This is particularly advantageous if the motor is operated in different positions.

Simple installation:
The relay can be mounted anywhere in the motor, on the motor or even somewhere outside the motor. This means it can be used flexibly, regardless of the design of the motor.

Long service life:
The practical design combined with high-quality workmanship ensures a long service life. 1.000,000 and more switching cycles can be achieved.

Electrical and mechanical safety:
The closed design on all sides prevents voltage flashovers to surrounding metal parts (earth) without special precautions. It is impossible to interfere with the mechanics. Installation and connection: The relay can be screwed on anywhere and in any position using the two fixing holes. Three 6.3 x 0.8 mm blade terminals are fitted to the relay for easy connection.

Design:
The following 2 variables are decisive for the design of the start-up relay:
1. Pick-up current:
Current at which the relay picks up, i.e. closes the switching contact and thus the auxiliary phase is switched on.
2. Drop-out current:
Current at which the relay drops out again, i.e. the switching contact opens again and the auxiliary phase is switched off.

Measuring instructions:
The relevant current values can be determined according to the following description: The ER4 auxiliary phase starting relay is used to switch the auxiliary phase when starting single-phase AC motors.

Selecting a suitable relay:
The decisive criterion for selecting the type is always the pick-up current. The relay is selected after determining the pick-up and drop-out current with the aid of the type list. The measured drop-out current must always be below the drop-out current of the relay according to the list! This is the only way to ensure that the relay drops out safely and switches off the auxiliary phase.
