The ESS31-T. electronic circuit breaker for DC 24 V applications is just 12.5 mm wide and selectively protects all DC 24 V load circuits, thereby increasing the availability of machines and systems. This is achieved by a combination of active electronic current limitation in the event of a short circuit and an overload cut-out at typ. 1.2 x IN. The device reacts faster than frequently used DC 24 V switching power supplies without tripping quickly, thus preventing fatal voltage dips in the supply. The ESS31-T can be snapped directly onto the top-hat rail and therefore offers quick and flexible installation for device groups with several circuits.
ESS31-T works with a single switch-off characteristic for all load types. Capacitive loads up to 40,000 μF can also be operated very easily. Fixed currents from 0.5 A to 12 A are available. The integrated fail-safe element (fuse) is adapted to the rated device current and can therefore be easily matched to the wired cable cross-section. This makes planning much easier.
Due to the approval according to UL1077 "Supplementary Protector" and the UL Listed approval according to UL60947/UL508, these circuit breakers can also be used in applications according to UL 508A "Industrial Control Panels" without any problems and are also suitable for "field wiring". Furthermore, the integrated galvanic isolation offers an additional level of safety, as a circuit breaker is actually "switched OFF" in the "OFF" state.
