ERA2302402 - The electronic starting relay is used to switch off motor starting capacitors after an adjustable time.
Application:
The electronic starting relay is used wherever a starting capacitor is switched off after the motor has started up.
- Single-phase motors
- Three-phase motors on single-phase mains (Steinmetz circuit)
Functional principle:
The electronic starting relay switches off the motor starting capacitor without contact after an adjustable delay time. The delay time corresponds to the time from switching on the motor under nominal load until it runs up to the nominal speed.
Advantages:
- maximum reliability thanks to the use of wear-free components
- compact design for installation in the motor terminal box
- easier to install and adjust than centrifugal switches
- optimum motor torque due to time-adjustable switch-off of the starting capacitor
- complete suppression of sparking during switching in contrast to mechanical switches
- higher switching currents
