8700.1202 ASB20-S electronic switch-on brake for 1.5-7.5kW 230V Klinger & Born

The DC brakes of the ASB20/S series are suitable for the safe braking of three-phase and AC motors. They have a potential-free contact for signalling faults and meet the requirements of the braking system in accordance with GS-HO-01, performance level = b. They also fulfil the requirements of EN 60204, section 9.2.5.4.2 "Emergency stop", category 1.

The devices operate with a regulated braking current of up to 20 A (ASB20/S), optionally up to 30 A (ASB20/S/30), whereby an automatic braking current limiter is integrated. The braking current is applied with a delay and the motor is released after standstill detection. Reproducible braking behaviour is achieved by automatically adapting the braking time to the motor status. Automatic adaptation to the motor resistance and reproducible adjustment of the braking current ensure optimum function while minimising the thermal load on the motor. For additional safety, the ASB20/S/30 variant has integrated thermal overload protection.

Fault detection with automatic shutdown also contributes to operational safety, as does the LED display, which signals the current operating status at all times. The connection is made via spring-loaded terminals, and mounting is intended for standard rails.
