Breakdown tape (SPB) provides insulation and protection of electrical connections and cables, as well as corrosion protection on metal pipelines. The tape is used, for example, in the temporary repair of water hoses, to insulate electrical plugs, to improve the water resistance of electrical installations and much more. SPB is a malleable, self-fusing polyisobutylene-based tape that conforms to the substrate. For splicing and repairing a wide range of power and distribution cables up to 46 kV. Can also be used as corrosion protection on metal pipelines. The electrical properties are highly stable under service conditions. The tape is highly resistant to prolonged immersion in water as well as exceptionally resistant to ozone. It is compatible with most hot-material compounds used in junction boxes. SPB seals, insulates and protects against moisture and corrosion. SPB has high electrical resistance and responds immediately to stretching. It is easy to use. Adhesive, heat and chemicals are not required.
