A centrifugal switch consists of two components, the stator and the rotor.
Design:
The basic design of the switches is identical for all types.
A fixed contact device(stator) is connected to the auxiliary phase or the device to be switched.
The stator performs the actual switching function.
A rotating centrifugal body(rotor) sits on the shaft and actuates the stator at a specified switching speed.
Switching principle:
With the stator (switching element), a distinction is made between momentary action and snap action.
With momentary action, the switch is confirmed by pressing the moving contact.
This means that the switching position and the switching speed are directly dependent on the rotor.
With snap-action switching, the contact initially remains in its original position under the influence of the rotor,
and only jumps to the other switching position when further influence is applied.
The advantage of this switching method is that there are only two switch positions (open or closed).
The contact moves at high speed independently of the rotor.
